1. Ask to see the bride’s dress if you haven’t already. If you are able to coordinate schedules, you may have gone shopping with your daughter and know what her dress looks like. If not, ask her and let her know you want to pick a dress that will complement hers. If her wedding will be on a beach and she’ll get married barefoot, you would want a more casual dress. 3. Choose a dress with your daughter: Getting the approval of your daughter is the best way to be sure you are both happy with the selection. Plus, this can be a special bonding time for the two of you as you select a plus size dress for yourself. You can make a day of it with lunch or coffee after the shopping trip.
Ask your daughter if she prefers certain colors. Of course, you want to wear a flattering color. If her wedding has themed colors – such as blue and green – you may wish to wear those colors or one that works well with those colors so that the photographs look good.
